Reservist Master Warrant Officer (MWO) Mike Gray, of the Princess Louise's Fusiliers in Nova Scotia, adjusts the sights on his C-7 service rifle. MWO Gray went on to win the Queen's medal at the competition. MWO Gray, who is a past winner of the Queens Medal, was participating in the Dominion of Canada Rifle Association (DCRA) shooting competition at Connought Ranges as a member of the Maritime Forces Atlantic (MARLANT) Navy shooting team. The medal is presented by Her Majesty, The Queen and awarded to both the Regular Force competitor, and the Reserve Force/RCMP competitor, who obtain the highest grand aggregate score from Stage 1 and Stage 2 of the Queen's Medal rifle matches. DCRA has been hosting the competition in absence of the Canadian Forces Small Arms Competition (CFSAC) which has not run in the last two years due to overseas operations and budgetary restraints.
